Bruckner is nominated as the "Best female leading actress" by Independent Spirit Award. Her birthplace and upbringing was in a family of three: a brother, two sisters. She regularly practiced Hungarian in order to improve her language proficiency. Bruckner grew up in Hollywood, California. She had an Hungarian mother and a Russian father. They have been divorced. The paternal grandfather of Bruckner who was German died in the past. The couple came into contact in Hungary. They immigrated in America. U.S. through an Italian refugee camp. She has two sisters and an older brother.
